This morning while waiting for my bus (here) I was mugged by three guys. All they wanted was my iPhone apparently. No guns; no knives. It was like a magic trick. Within one second my iPhone was gone and I was on the ground. This happened in daylight in front of a dozen people. No one said anything; no one cared. Pathetic.

I immediately deactivated the iPhone since I had so much sensitive stuff on it. A few police came, and it was obvious they didn’t care. Why should they? It’s just “a thing”. They have a point. These animals could have taken something less replaceable. They told me this happens all the time. On the bus, outside the bus, etc. If I chased after them they “would have beaten me because they don’t care”. Lovely. So from now on I guess I’ll leave my iPhone in my pocket as much as possible. Shrug.

The worst part is it costs $399 for a new one since I’m not eligible for the $199 price tag. Ridiculous. Fortunately I have an old school iPhone lying around, so I’ll use that until WWDC. Also, all of my contacts and calendars are sync’d with Google so you won’t see a stupid Facebook group called “my phone was stolen so i need your numbers waaaa”. Damn that’s annoying. Get with the times people.

This sucks. Fuck San Francisco. I’m calling my landlord to ask about breaking my lease. I’m moving to Palo Alto.
