Almost free movies on the iPad
My Blu-ray collection is now in the double digits, and I recently discovered the reward for purchasing “Special Edition” sets. Special Edition usually means 3 discs: an extra disc for special features, and an extra disc called the “Digital Copy.” Also, they are often the same price as the single Blu-ray disc on Amazon (occasionally cheaper too).
I ignored these discs assuming they were just regular DVDs. However, upon further inspection, I discovered how awesome they are.
1. Stick the Digital Copy into your computer.
2. iTunes automatically launches and asks for a code.
3. Enter the code (found in the Blu-ray box).
4. 1+ GB version of the movie starts downloading. Free.
5. Sync that version onto your iPad.
6. Sweet.
