Bling Nation newsletter used my photo
Awesome! Here’s the original.
21st century theft
Found a Bling tag on the ground in Palo Alto. Immediately treated everyone in Coupa Cafe to a round of lattes.
Haha yeah right.
Bling Nation: Now you don’t need a wallet
Thanks to Bling Nation, if you live in downtown Palo Alto (DTPA) you no longer need to carry around a wallet. All you need are your keys and your phone. The BlingTag is a free sticker that actually came with $20, and I received an additional $20 after I linked it to my Paypal acount. AMAZING.
The best part is I can use it at my two favorite cafes: Coupa Cafe and Cafe Epi.
Bling Nation rebranding:
When I started at iControl Networks in the summer of 2006, I noticed a nearby company called Bling Nation. The entrance was always dark and I never saw anyone enter or leave the building. I assumed it was a failed startup and no one bothered to take the sign down.
Now, more than three years later, there’s a beautiful new sign and website. Also, and this is even more exciting, a few local businesses are using their product to accept payments.
I really do live in an awesome valley.
