LinkedIn HQ When I start a company I want “DK” on the doors. Cornell and Dartmouth had an alumni event together at the LinkedIn HQ in Mountain View. Several recruiting experts talked about how to make an effective LinkedIn profile, along with other job seeking/recruiting tips. My favorite parts were: The host made a historical reference to Jesus Christ. A panelist said you should only have a picture in your LinkedIn profile if you are “diverse.” Another panelist said you shouldn’t have a picture in your profile if you’re “fat and ugly.”

Business Card v3: I’m playing around with the third version of my personal business card. Vertical? Sure why not. The left half includes a list of places to find me on the internets. The right half goes one step further by providing URLs instead of just service names. Any thoughts? Who knows. Perhaps I’ll just clear out the service names and just leave my name and contact information. My dream is to just put my name and URL. That might be a little too out there for 2009.
